Binge - Jennifer Foor
Published April 27, 2015
series: 7 Year Itch #1
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Erotic, Drama

Flynn & Aria Roberts have had plenty of ups and downs during their seven year marriage. Everyone warned them not to wed so young - that they'd be missing out on the key years when people grow from young adults to mature individuals.

The only thing holding them together now is their love for each other, and even that is becoming questionable. To save the marriage, and the family they've already started, Flynn and Aria come up with an unconventional solution to help them find what's missing in their relationship.

The only problem is doing so involves rediscovering themselves completely, even if it requires them to be unfaithful. Can a marriage survive when vows are broken, or will chance encounters prove they've been missing out all-along?

Fulfill your deepest desires
Give in to temptation

You know those reviews that somehow convey all of the feelings you wish you could have about the book you just read. Well this is NOT going to be that review to do it for you, honestly I’m not even sure my review could do the proper justice for how I felt after reading Binge.

Probably like most the cover is what caught attention and the blurb intrigued me even more. I knew going in I could not lose on this one and I didn’t. Going into Binge I thought it was going to be an erotic tale of a couple exploring their sexual flavors with others. Kind of like a love triangle/ square, but I was wrong.

Jennifer Foor introduces us to a young married couple Flynn and Aria Roberts, currently their love life is not what it use to. Their story is like any real couple, that has real problems that need answers. How do I say I lost my job? Do you still find me attractive? Do you still love me? Why are still together? Finally needing answers to their questions they seek counseling, which at times seem to make things worse. The communication between these two was horrible. The highs and lows was sometimes overwhelming.

The pace of the story and dual POV kept my attention like no other. I honestly attempted not to get out of bed, except for food and toilet. I had mixed emotions about both characters, but the those emotions were mainly geared to whatever was going on at the time. In the beginning I was #TeamAria, she’s this young mother, basically forced to marry young, Flynn cheated on her, she was having the same self esteem issues that most mothers and wives: Am I good enough? Who am I?. My heart just went out to her, but as the story developed and layers were peeled away, I knew something was mentality off with this woman. She was all over the place, at one point I stopped liking her and switched to #TeamFlynn. While Flynn had this selfish thing going, but he also seem like he was more willing to try to save his family. He too was a young parent and I’m sure the his immaturity was the main cause of his indiscretions. Not to ever say that it was ok, but definitely understandable.

I believe readers that are married may be able to relate and maybe enjoy Binge, more than someone that’s not. There are issues that arise in the book that people may find disturbing i.e. cheating, lying, abuse both verbal and physical. Things became real. It also makes you think how far are you willing to go to not only save your marriage, but your family.

Blog Tour: The Phoenix Campaign Book Review

Thanks for stopping

The Phoenix Campaign - Heidi Joy Tretheway
Published April 20,2015
Series: Grace Colten #2
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Erotica, Political
Amazon | iBooks | BN | Kobo | Goodreads

,
Ambition. Lust. Sacrifice. Politics just got a whole lot sexier.
Grace Colton’s life is a blur—security, appearances, and a desperately fast ramp-up to Election Day. Political consultant Jared Rankin is pulling the strings to win the White House with the Conover-Colton ticket.

But the fragile relationship Grace and Jared forged could be ruined by secrets traded for political leverage. She’s hiding her new relationship with Jared from the public, and concealing a deeper secret from everyone.

When Grace reveals the explosive truth to her running mate, squeaky-clean Senator Conover must confront his own haunted past. Grace’s future—and their campaign—could be ruined by the lies meant to protect what they love most.

Peek behind the curtain and under the covers in this sexy political drama that exposes the true cost of ambition, lust and sacrifice.

The Phoenix Campaign is an erotic romance set in the world of presidential election politics. Recommended for mature readers due to sharp dialogue, wickedly hot sex, and a few delicious taboos. This full-length novel is second in a series but can be read as a stand alone..

The Phoenix Campaign has us back in the race to the big Oval Office and its one heck of a marathon. Things pick up right where we were left from The Phoenix Candidate and of course since we’re talking politics there was not a shortage of scandals, secrets, lies, backstabbing. It was one of the go get the popcorn because it’s going down. With that said I had mixed emotions with this one. The writing and storyline once again captured my attention. Not only were the characters well developed, but they also dragged so much emotion from me. There were some moments where I felt it was too much .

I’ll start with Congresswoman Grace Colton, this woman has to be a PR nightmare she makes me absolutely without a doubt bat sh*t crazy. This lady had the ability to make me growl, do the muffled scream, and my favorite the fist clenching. Her fearlessness is a quality I’m sure every mother hopes her daughter has. She never backed down, even when it was in her best interest. She had this family first, mama bear quality her that made her like, unfortunately it was not enough the overshadow her stubbornness. That headstrong trait was not only applied to her work, but her “situationship” she had with her former campaign consultant Jared Rankin.

Let’s be honest Jared is not the man I thought he could be. He came in dominated, allowed Grace to be who she is, and even gave LOTS of blissful gratification. My only compliant for him was that he wasn't around more. I mean its ok to come by just be there. Not every meetup met the clothes needed to fall off. I think his best move yet was to give up Grace professionally.

I'm still not convinced about Grace and Jared’ s relationship, they have too many doubts and insecurities to workout. When things don’t go their was she rebels and he runs, its like grow up, open your mouth, and talk. Most of the drama could have been avoided if only that rare thing called communication would have taken place.

I was almost disappointed with the ending because in lead me to a cliffhanger, but I found a pleasant surprise within a few more pages, because I learned there will be one more addition to this saga that I can’ t wait to be entertained by.

I would definitely recommend The Phoenix Campaign under a few stipulations 1: please read The Phoenix Candidate first, 2: If you’re a fan of scandalous and sexy politics, and 3: If you enjoy people in high power positions that don’t exactly have it together, because let’s be truthful it makes them that more interesting.

Fitness Friday #6

I'll admit it's been a bunch of time since my last fitness update. There has been some changes mostly due to me learning and coming into a groove. I NO LONGER workout twice a day, it was too much, too fast and it was the start of me eventually giving up and throwing in the towel. Not to mention I have this thing called a family and I felt like I was neglecting them and it just wasn't working trying to exercise in the afternoon. Just too many moving parts. I still have this love/hate with my morning workout, but I developed the "Get up and get it done" mentality about it. My favorite part of my morning routine is everyone is sleep and I don't have to give anyone any attention during that time its all mine.
I can do this.jpg

Currently I’m on my last stretch of the Butt Bible work and level 3 is no joke. The trainer, Pauline Nordin, her voice has become less annoying, or maybe its the fact the she is kicking my butt that I don’t notice. With the Butt Bible workout on the cardio /rest days I use my elliptical machine. I think its time to use it for more than a “catch all”. Aside from that I’m doing this 30 day 6 pack Abs  challenge workout by BeFit, of course I found on Youtube, I found a 30 day Beach Body Challenge that I use as part of my warm-up; the second  part of my “warm-up” I alternate between 2 different 7 minute HIIT routines that I found on workoutlabs.com. Love my zero cost workouts.

Unfortunately since I gave up my afternoon work I also gave up doing Blogilates, while her workout kick major butt, which is surprising since she doesn't use any equipment. I have to figure out how to work her back into my life, but next time around I REFUSE to do the estimate hour workout she has for her calendars. I just can’t.

strongest fastest hardest.jpgAlmost forgot the past few weeks a few co-workers signed up at Planet Fitness and with their membership they can bring a guest sooo I've done that a few times. For most of us our home life is all over the place so Fridays after work have been our go to the gym together day. It works out really well since we work a half day and the kids are still in school by time we finish and I get home the bus is pulling up to the house. Since so many of my co-workers have memberships I doubt that I’ll ever get one myself unless my hubby decides he wants to start going ...andddd I think I fibbing. While I like going to the gym and using the machines my at home workout is currently what’s best for me, who knows maybe once I get through all of the workout calendars that I have planned...who knows.

So to get to the good part or maybe not good part. I haven’t exactly lost any weight which sometimes disappoint me, but then I realize that I’m losing inches,  my clothes are now starting to feel loose fit, my energy is getting better, and I’m starting to like what I see in the mirror. Overall I just feel good. So here’s my numbers. Overall I've only a total of 4 inches, but its progression.

Book Review: Hands Off! The 100 Day Agreement by Candy J. Starr

Hands Off! The 100 Day Agreement - Candy J. Starr
Published Dec. 3, 2014
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Goodreads * Amazon

One hundred days without sex? Is that even possible?

When I got offered an exchange to the Italian art school of my dreams, I nearly cried. I could barely afford college expenses at home let alone in a foreign country but it’d break my heart to knock them back. Then my rich and uptight grandmother called with her offer.

If I stopped screwing around, she'd foot the bill. So I agreed. I figured she didn't really care about my sex life, she just wanted me to keep my partying off the radar.

I was so wrong.

The sexy but annoying Chad moved into my apartment to keep me under surveillance. Why wasn't Chad dying to get into my pants like every other guy I've met? He had secrets and he wanted me to fail.

One hundred days is a helluva long time to avoid temptation – even longer when Chad becomes the temptation.

Thank you Ms. Candy J. Starr for taking me on this entertaining ride of one girl really finding herself. I’ll be honest the cover is not what caught my attention, but it was more so the title and blurb. Another truth I’m almost certain that I didn't read it correctly.Luckily my assumptions were correct that this was going to be the equivalent of 40 days and 40 nights, which it was but I was this was the female version.

After a few chains of events Lucy Baker, queen of the party girls has the opportunity to take a trip of a lifetime to study what she loves, art. Unfortunately for Lucy she doesn't have enough money to make that dream come true. As fate would have it her grandmother, whom I dislike very much offers her the money to go, but there’s a catch she had to abstain from having sex or anything her grandmother would considered immoral for 100 days. To make sure Lucy keeps her words she assigned a bodyguard, Chad Ferris.

Just the existence of Chad annoyed Lucy for no end, but I found the banter between the two kind of cute in a chick flick kind of way. It was kind of hard to get a feel for him since we never had the chance to get inside of his head. In my opinion Hands Off, would have been that much better with his POV.

While the events that took place felt somewhat predictable, I still found myself very much entertained and I even had a few moments of the butterfly feeling. Truthfully I cannot figure out why this is the first time that I am experiencing Ms. Starr’s talent, but I will make sure I add her the list of author’s to watch out for.

Book Review: Getting Dirty by Mia Strom

Getting Dirty - Mia Storm
Published March 19, 2015
Series: Jail Bait # 1
Genre: Contemporary, Romance New Adult, Erotica

Dirty
A poem by Blaire Leon

If sex is dirty, why would I do it with someone I love?
If sex is dirty, then didn’t we all come from the dirt?
What if I like the dirt?
What if I want to get dirty?
What if I want to roll in the mud until I’m so fucking filthy that I’ll never be clean again?

When twenty-five-year-old graduate assistant Caiden Brenner asked Blaire Leon how old she was, she said she was a senior. He chose to believe she meant in college. They connect over Lord Byron’s Don Juan and, as their conversations become increasingly thicker with sexual innuendo, Caiden finds himself obsessing over a totally off-limits undergrad who’s bold, beautiful, brilliant, and one of the most passionate poets he’s ever met.

But it turns out Blaire hasn't been totally honest. She's the seventeen-year-old valedictorian of her high school class, taking courses at Sierra State while awaiting her acceptance to Stanford.

Will Caiden get too deeply into Blaire to back away before he finds out the truth? Or will their connection be enough to seduce him into risking his entire future on Jail Bait?

"A thousand and one feels....Getting Dirty is a thrilling, tantalizing forbidden romance you do not want to miss! I not only devoured this book, it devoured me right back!"--Katy Evans, New York Times Bestselling author of REAL

 photo picadillygray_zpsaa73e183.png

Mia Storm’s debut novel Getting Dirty, wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I mean I knew the relationship was taboo not only due to the age difference, but also the student/ teacher factor. Honestly, I was thinking it was going to be more on the erotic side, but hands down I liked this version just as much.

16 year old Blaire Leon is what I would like to call an old soul, causing her not to fit in with people her age. She’s a very intelligent high school senior granting her the opportunity to take courses at the local college. While studying in the library she notices a cutie and she doesn't have to put much effort into getting the attention of Caden Brenner.

Caden Brenner is a 25 year old teacher assistant for the course she’s currently taking.Going in he not only did he not know Blaire was 16, but that she was still in high school. Outside of the tidbit of info Caden still has a few reasons as to why he’s hesitated about pursuing Blaire. He has his own issues going on in his life and having any improper relationship with a student would just add more to his list of problems. Unfortunately, sometimes one cannot control who you’re attracted to. It take a few innuendos over studying and stolen glances in the library before things to progress.

The whole age difference being wrong and unacceptable - I get it and I understand. I also feel conflicted. For many personals reasons.I think most of it is how things are handled. I’m sure they could've kept things hushed for a little while longer, but the way these two went about doing things was completely reckless.

Everything about Getting Dirty felt very realistic and authentic. I felt for both of them as to how things went down. How things actually became messy and dirty. The highs and lows. The rights, the wrongs, and the maybes. It made this one very hard to put down, its also one of those stories take makes you analyze the rules of society.

There were a few things that I didn’t care for like Blaire’s relationship with her brothers best friend if you could call it that. Another thing that I didn’t care for was the fact that her parents were too busy in their lives to notice things going on with their daughter’s life. The most disappointing part was that most of the devastating events happened under their roof.

Overall Getting Dirty was an awesome read and I cannot wait to indulge more of Mia Storm’s work.

She’s the hot new recruit at the most prestigious research institute in Germany, and she’s determined to live up to the hype — even if it means working day and night. Kate can’t help but be drawn to him, even if giving in to the attraction would mean risking everything she’s worked for.

 photo black_zps584f1581.png

Is there some strange theme of wrapping things up in a exceedingly manner with a pretty bow on top, if so I guess that explains my feeling with the ending. I’m not sure if I’m being greedy, or there’s really a problem. The Music of Temptation is my second go with Verity Jacobs and she is rightfully becoming a favorite of mine.

Verity Jacobs brings us back to the research lab in Bonn fill with sexy nerds. This time around we’re introduced to Margot Duke, who’s currently in lackluster long distance relationship that’s has been going absolutely no where for quite some time. Once realizing this she’s in need of some happiness in the form of a concert of an upcoming band Paperclouds.

Jonathon Young leader member of Paperclouds is almost drawn immediately to both the intellect and sexiness of Margot. After an amazing set Johnathon and Margot are able to have an intense conversation that allows their attraction for each to grow extraordinary heights. The only problem is he lives on the other side of the pond

Unitentionally Margot finds her back in a LDR, which she vowed she would never do again, but there is something about Johnathon that makes this sounds like a good idea. Not to mention her rules that are easily forgotten. As feelings become more involved, decisions have to be made. Will this lab nerd find love with an on the rise musician.

I’m secretly hoping that Tek is the next sexy nerd that gets his own story I feel that he’s deserving.

Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

 photo picadillygray_zpsaa73e183.png

Ever start reading time is flying by and just when you think things can’t get any better you turn the page and its over. Ahhhh that’s my current situation with Ms. Bennett. I love her work, the angst, the chemistry, the character. I can’t think of anything that I don’t enjoy, expect it not being long enough.

Remember Macy Carrington, Mac’s friend and roommate. Well now its her turn to have her story told and its good.I never realised just how misunderstood Macy really was, but this girl has some dark things going on in her life. Her coping device just happen to be men, with zero repeats. There is one man that’s pushing all of her buttons and not necessary in a good way and that man just happens to be Cal.

Cal Carson once Matt Connover’s best friend and now Mac’s (Matt’s wife) business partner. Is a good guy, I like him. He’s always doing the right thing. Being Mac’s business partner means that he has the pleasure of being in close proximity of Macy and that’s when tension rises.

On the suggestion of Matt, well more so some dark humor that Cal and Macy have sex as a way the get through the tension. Will these two takes his suggestion or just continue to want take each other’s head off whenever they’re near each other..

Blog Tour: What the Lightening Sees by Louise Bay

What the Lighting Sees - Louise Bay
Series: Lighting #1
Published: March 31, 2015
Genre: Romance, Erotica

Jake Harrison is everything that Haven Daniels hates about men: over-confident, born into money and too handsome for his own good. Haven finds it difficult to keep her opinions to herself and can’t help but tell Jake exactly what she thinks of him, again and again.
Haven Daniels is uptight, smart and a bit of a bitch – the perfect challenge for Jake. It doesn’t hurt that she’s movie star beautiful and has no idea.
Forced to work together, verbal sparring turns into sexual chemistry but men like Jake are trouble and Haven has had enough trouble to last her a lifetime.
Will Haven give into Jake’s charms? Can Jake peel off Haven’s prickly mask, revealing the woman he knows lies beneath?

I find it very devastating that Haven Daniels have never officially left the painfully petty world of high school like behavior. The backstabbing and unprofessional-ism makes me super happy those years are so far behind me. Currently working as a Features Editor for one of the UK’s women’s magazine, Haven is presented an opportunity the could help get her not only interview a hot singer/ actress. Everything about this project is not exactly what Haven envisioned, especially when she was told that she would be working with Jake”Harry” Harrison.

Let’s be honest Haven was somewhat a b* when she met Jake and it was all because she amused who he was. Yes he’s rich, handsome, and her bossy’s friend, but Jake actually has work ethics and talent.Jake is the son of a police officer born and raised on the south side of Chicago, made his money by making very wise investment. Not only that, the money he made didn’t change him, it only changed the way people looked.

There’s a chemistry between these two that only Haven is willing to deny or maybe she knows that Jack is hiding something important from her. Whatever it is at times Haven’s sometime verbal diarrhea makes me crazy.

Louise Bay’s writing is so much fun, I didn’t want to put this one down even when my eyes were begging me.The narration was in dual POV which is my absolute favorite. Of course we’re left with a cliffhanger that I may just need to jump off of if I don’t get the next installment soon. I’m needing to know what happens next.
